What is it?

NEXT MOVE is a 21st Century course focused on building English language skills for today’s students.

Today’s students are different. They are ‘Digital Natives’, born in an era of websites, social media, testing and gaming. Phew, we get tired just thinking about it! But that’s how they relate to the world, using technology to express themselves, collaborate and learn. It’s exciting to be able to communicate so extensively and be part of a global community, especially when you are learning a new language.

SUMMARY

  • a four-level course
  • for secondary students
  • covering CEFR levels from A1 to B1
    (Elementary to Intermediate)

The Levels

21st Century Tools

Students' Book contains a host of innovative and motivating features to make classes a real success. Next Move Student's Book consists of:

  • Starter Unit
  • Nine units of one lesson per page
  • Three Review units
  • Nine Brain Trainer pages
  • Six Culture pages

Workbook and MP3 CD – The Workbook provides students with reinforcement and extra practice of the grammar, vocabulary and skills. Includes extensive full-colour reference section and Self-Assessment programme.
It is ideal for mixed-ability groups as activities are classified with one, two or three stars according to their level of difficulty.
The accompanying MP3 CD contains recordings of all Workbook audio tracks.

eText – For course content on mobile, tablet or a browser, including audio, video and games. Students can write notes and collaborate, search and highlight phrases and use bookmarks. And the online dictionary provides an instant vocabulary check.

Active Teach – For Interactive whiteboards ActiveTeach provides a wealth of multimedia materials and exercises. It keeps students’ attention on the task and their heads up, rather than their noses in a book.

MyEnglishLab – For enriched, online learning, including homework, practise, tips, automatic feedback and instant grades. Students study at their own pace and keep track of their own performance. Teachers can assign homework and assess progress at a glance.

Teacher’s Resource Bank – Including dozens of activities and exercises that can be printed out and used in class. The integrated Test Master enables the teacher to create and manage customised tests.

Video and Audio – For the students to enjoy their lessons, engaging with the materials and learning using themes and situations they are familiar with.

Next Move app – For iPhone and iPad – the additional app provides fun quizzes for students to practice their English.

So how does Next Move make teaching easier for you?

Challenge 1:I have a mixed-level and mixed-ability class. Help!

WE HAVE THE ANSWER
  • With graded exercises in the workbooks you can keep assessing how your individual students are progressing and support them in the right way.
  • Projects tasks stimulate and motivate the high achievers and include those that require more support without demotivating them. Which means minimal class disruption for you!
  • Keep your fast finishers engaged with the Next Move Brain Trainer activities while the class finishes!
  • Personalise learning process by providing reports on individual students with MyEnglishLab. Everyone likes to feel special.
  • A guided inductive approach to grammar develops students’ learning skills such as, identifying grammar patterns and formulating grammar rules.
  • Everyone learns differently, and it makes a big impact to how quickly you pick something up. The Learning Styles Test in the Teacher’s Book helps you establish how your students learn best.

Challenge 2:I need to keep them engaged!

WE HAVE THE ANSWER
  • Where do students go after school? They... go online!
So, use Next Move MyEnglishLab and let them practise English in the environment which is so natural to them.
  • “Heads-up” teaching with ActiveTeach software engages all types of learners using visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
  • Interactive exercises make language practice more fun, helping it stick in the learners mind!
  • Everyone likes things when they want and where they want. Learning is no different and with MyEnglishLab students can do exactly that.

Challenge 3:I need to be able to place my students at the right level,
and keep checking their progress.

WE HAVE THE ANSWER

So you can get back to what you love doing, teaching, we take the hard work out of this for you with Next Move’s complete assessment package.

Heres how:
